My resounding answer is yes! Yoga focuses on three main components, the spiritual, the mental and the physical. These have been said to be life changing. With the stresses black women face daily, high rates of cancer, heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure, it is my hope that more black women will be open to trying all forms of fitness. These will in turn help them to lead healthier lives. A great place to start is by trying yoga (our intro to Zumba class is FREE). Join us for two therapeutic yoga classes this month! RSVP today as space is limited!
Yoga is more than just an exercise. The literal definition is to yoke and join together. It is a way to become one not just with others but most importantly with you. A way to connect and understand YOU! It’s necessary to take the time and protect your happiness so mark your calendars.
Be sure you read our post on the Effectiveness of Yoga and the Effectiveness of Meditation.
Stay tuned for our September Yoga & You pop up classes that will be offered across the state of Connecticut! Don't miss out- we're offering a SPECIAL Mommy & Me Yoga class the last Saturday of this month. Children are not required for adults to attend but we encourage you to bring the little ones along.
As studies illuminate the human health disasters caused by stress, there is new evidence that suggests yoga is one of the best medicines to counteract these:
- Yoga helps with fighting against obesity
- Migraine management
- Helps older women against joint damage -helps lower blood pressure & cholesterol
-Yoga isn’t a miracle worker and it takes a lot of discipline but every ounce of effort put forth is well worth it, if it means you can live a healthier and longer lifestyle
